ABOUT GWENDY
I have always loved baking for friends and family and extending hospitality. Delicious foods made from simple ingredients for fresh delicious flavor is my specialty.
The thought of having a bakery never really occurred to me; baking was just something I loved to do. But life has a funny way of opening doors and guiding us down a path we never considered. And there we were opening a bakery, Gwendy’s Goodies. Who knew doing what you love as a job could be so much fun!
With the help of family and friends the little bakery grew from just cookies to a bakery case full of cakes, cinnamon rolls, bar cookies, muffins, Danish, eclairs and pies. We also started offering custom decorated cakes. I loved the days of working side by side with my children and have been blessed to have staff that are more like family than employees. It has always been a team effort and I am so thankful for the support of my family and friends.
My mom and sister joined the team in 2024 and we renovated a building around the corner. Our new location is beautiful and inviting. With a beautiful fully equipped kitchen we are now offering breakfast and lunch. Working alongside my amazing mama and partnering with my sister in PA continues our family centered tradition.
In 2025 we are celebrating 10 years of business! In celebration we rebranded to Gwendy’s Cafe and Bakery and added soft serve ice cream.
Many things have changed in the last 10 years but the most important hasn’t . It has been our goal from day one for every person who walks through our door to be treated like family. We value our guests and we are thankful to be located in the heart of downtown Ayden where everyone is welcome.
